Eugene Kheng

Registered Clinical Psychologist (AHPRA, SRP), M.Psych (Clinical), MAPS, MSPS

Hi. I’m the founder of Blue. Psychological Services. The motivations behind this project of mine can be found in the “About us” section of the website. Prior to the founding of Blue., I have been regularly providing pro bono consultation to individuals who connect via word-of-mouth or through various platforms. Blue. is the amalgamation of my experiences in an attempt to provide a systematic platform for pro bono consultation, as well as to provide likeminded colleagues an opportunity to contribute their expertise.

As a clinician, I have over 8 years of experience working in the mental health and disability sector. These include paediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Some of the places I’ve had the privilege to work and train at include three local hospitals and an autism-specific special education school. I am also trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy (NT).

My current work involves adolescent, adult, and geriatric mental healthcare across a range of conditions. However, I’ve got extensive training and experience in the field of Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), with more than half a decade of experience under my belt. Some of my research interests involve the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of comorbid mental health conditions with ASC, as well as factors that influence the Quality of Life (QoL) of individuals on the autism spectrum. I was the lead developer of a suicide risk assessment tool for children and adolescents on the autism spectrum, and I have developed a 5-module training programme to equip individuals with the necessary skills to assess suicide risk in the autistic population.
